Are there any better choices for manufacturing stateside? From what I can tell, not only is manufacturing stateside much more difficult and expensive, often times factories don’t want small business.

Performance, latency variability and sanity. It’s somewhat easier to write applications without having to make a syscall, which may have unknown latency (even if it’s a non blocking poll).

I seriously do not understand anyone in the Bay Area that’s anti development. How can you justify yourself in good conscience to be anti development when CoL is so high?

I’m unfamiliar with the badness of ATF. I haven’t seen any painfully embarrassing stories about ATF. What kinds of offenses have they committed?

I don’t understand. How is this possible? The POSIX API is not implemented for WASM. Non web embedding have not yet been standardized, nor threads. How have they implemented this? Are they implementing a non standard embedding and pthreads?

One of the nice aspects of D is that it interfaces with C++ really nicely. I'm not overly familiar with how Rust handles this, as the last time I tried to glue together Rust and C++ was more than a year ago, and the tooling was in evol

I mean, maybe this is where neural networks that forget are valuable? They allow for exploration, and don't create local maximas in the same way?

Yeah, the idea was to use ISM band. The problem was finding MTs that supported these bands. The LTE base station was much easier. I was hoping 5G had taken this use case into account, and thought to optimize for those bands, or alternativel

I haven't read the "5G" 3GPP spec yet. I was super interested in using LTE to replace WiFi in offices, because centralized multiplexing seems like such an attractive approach.

Have you thought of adding an eBPF backend for Rust? I'm curious where you work. I've been doing eBPF in production for a while as well, but our control plane is Go / C.

I don't understand why people don't just pay more , and hire fewer people. It's easy to see a senior engineer that outputs 2-3x as much as a junior engineer, but you don't see them being comped like that. If you'

I used to make fun of JavaScript. I hated JavaScript, it was confusing (wtf is prototype?), easy to screw up in, and didn’t have a real concurrency model. But then I realized this didn’t matter. The JavaScript community is was evolving at a

Yeah, I don’t understand why companies like Boeing don’t pay competitively. Their revenue is pretty good. Also, they seem to hire a lot of people. What am I missing? Why do they hire so many people at less than awesome comp?

Nah, Joe's thesis and the History of Erlang was about the reasons why Erlang is good at a very specific subset of things. It's awesome to meet a Rustacean who's familiar with Erlang. So, I've deployed Erlang pretty happi

I'm going to disagree with you on Rust. It's a very different, very verbose language. It doesn't have any of the stories around immutability that Erlang does. You say you had to rewrite Mnesia, but Rust doesn't even have

It’s kinda a bummer to see 802.11ad being ignored. I use 802.11ad for game streaming in my house, and it’s great. It’s also great for the “access point per room” story, if there was a mechanism to have cheaper APs and do hand off.
