Note that Google planned to use SiFive X280 for TPU, although I don't know the current status. https://www.semianalysis.com/p/sifive-powers-google-tpu-nasa...

Conclusion: it is reasonable to project that the goal of 2%-3% overhead for deterministic spatial and referential memory safety is achievable.

VMware virtualized x86 without hardware support, so it probably can be done. That doesn't mean it would be easy or it would be as performant as with hardware support.

Since diamonds are made of just carbon, they are cheaply produced using chemical vapor deposition. https://fortune.com/2023/09/03/diamond-demand-falling-lab-gr...

More than that, she calculated how high it will float, and how height will depend on temperature, before starting the experiment, and confirmed all her predictions.

It is not a purity issue. On the other hand, 1D superconductors are expected to behave this way. See my other comments.

洗芝溪 answered this on Zhihu. All his answers are extremely good. This user knows something. 这应该还是材料的各向异性, 也就是它的准一维结构导致. 因为材料当中有一个固定晶相, 那个方向的抗磁性最强, 所以磁感线总会沿着这个方向走, 导致所有样品都是竖起来的. This should be due to the anisotropy of the material, that is, i

That's entirely a sociological(!) question and hard to answer. I think it deserves a Nobel, but I am less confident whether it will actually win a Nobel.

What's up with "Error! Bookmark not defined"? Is this some kind of trolling? I guess its presence in the first version is understandable if it was posted in hurry, but why leave it in the revised version?

MRI is a potential application of room temperature superconductor in general, but not specifically for LK-99. One disadvantage of LK-99 is that it has very low critical current, see patent figure 10. On the other hand, 300 mA is more than e

Sure, replacing copper wires help too, but the real deal is to replace copper interconnects inside the chips. It looks like the company is going for replacing copper interconnects in chips.

Since there will be impurity anyway, there is no difference whatsoever in practice between zero and very very low resistance. Quantum Energy Research Centre in fact describes its resistance to be "lower than 1/10^4 of copper"

Cooler chips. Chips heat due to resistance, and superconductors have zero resistance (by definition). I suspect this is the company's intended application. The following quote from their patent is very suggestive if you know about semi
