I don't know if I'd go that far. As an American who lived in NZ for a few years I got a very pacific northwest vibe from the NZ cities. If you like Portland or Seattle, Wellington is sweet as.

Text formats can be downright huge, however. I've worked with quite a few meshes that exceed 100s of megabytes when stored as obj, but compress down nicely in binary. What we really need is a simple binary obj file. It would be a no-br

I'm curious if anyone has developed a plugin that is able to capture meshes and textures displayed through WebGL? If your graphics card is rendering these things, the data is obviously there, and one should simply be able to dump a few

> Yes, maybe 5-7 times as much. I do not think we are arguing here. My point is that good professors and good universities have a solid quality of life. Whether this reward system is the best for society in the long term is another quest

It's usually a big deal when a professor fails to make tenure at a respectable university. I can think of multiple case studies at MIT and Stanford. Departments look bad when they are forced to drop promising talent.

I'm a big fan Landau and Lifshitz's "Mechanics." Starting from nothing they hit the major results in classical mechanics in 224 pages. Short. Sweet. Elegant.
