Awesome reading your post! My dad bought this book at a Goodwill when I was a kid, and I still remember how some of my friends thought the title was cheesy (you know, at that age when we're already trying to be adults and macho), yet m

I don't know, this might be the actual reason... or it's just that he couldn't really put the book into film. It's very difficult to do so, some may say it's just impossible since the mediums are so different. But

Sure, don't trust the advice of any one doctor; that's alright. With vaccines though, you're deciding not to trust the advice of pretty much every doctor.

This makes me thankful for digital culture/internet in general. If it were today, that lecture would be available, very likely free for everyone on youtube. Instead, it's lost forever.

As a South American (Brazilian, biggest catholic nation by numbers), it's the easiest thing for me to believe. Outside intellectual/academic/art circles, stating you are an atheist = stating you are a satanist, almost.

You're right. Somehow I had it in my head that Kinesis used blue switches.

I never use the backspace key. I have had it mapped to 'C-;' for ages. The japanese backspace is terrible, but the normal US layout isn't too good either.

Google japanese keyboard layouts. They have always been like this. It always made sense to me, as I touch type. I once bought a japanese thinkpad just because of this.

How good are the Topre switches, compared to the ones on the Kinesis Advantage (I'm assuming you used 'blue' ones on the Kinesis)? I'm about to get a Kinesis Advantage, and the only con that I could think of so far is th

Somewhat related, one guy began a startup that simplifies, through his website, the process for family members to shop and send stuff to inmates. All the products are within the prison's accepted stuff guidelines, as it seems this is a

Audiophiles should just say they buy these for the aesthetics. Then nobody can mock, er, I mean, argue with their buying choices. Some of the stuff does look good.

I'd go with maglev cables. Have some sort of base or track on the floor that would keep the cables levitated. Less strain on the metals inside. A clearer path to your audio purity.

Can you calculate a force applied to something that's infinite? I mean, if the wire is infinite, what's it's mass? Doesn't seem plausible to me, but I'm not a physicist, so I could be talking crap here.
