While I like the article, I much prefer ZFS by now. With CachyOS having ZFS in the installer, you can just natively encrypt your setup with an officially maintained project, USB drives are usable too. After this you can use zrepl to autosna

I wonder if it would be possible to sand down a MacBook surface to the grade where it was all shiny mirror like the Apple logo, e.g. with car polish :-) The "untouchable" MacBook mirror :-)

Thank you for the listing. However I'd really appreciate two more columns: Release Year/CPU gen Display Options To see what tech of a laptop I'm buying in regards of performance and if it has a > 1920x1200 Option.

I much prefer Coroutines in Kotlin... Lightweight, pauseable, resumable, cancelable and easy to use without having to provide a CancellationToken AND a CancellationTokenProvider. I really hope that coroutines land in Rust after being experi

Maybe... Is this framebuffer? My platform is pretty unusual (riscv64-musl), so I was pretty happy when something was working. If your interested, it is a portable audio player with the size of the iPod Nano 7g: https://github.com

While I love seeing many alternatives regarding UI frameworks, I'd love to see one general purpose "market leader". I love `iced` for its simplicity and flexibility, but unfortunately there is no official software renderer, w

I'd think this is OK but I'm not sure if another Option to just give feedback of keyboard activity would combine the best of both worlds. A space with a cursor instead of an asterisk would make it harder to count the Chars Adding

Here are some lesser known facts about wired headphones that I wish I had known earlier: - there are TRS (3 rings) and TRRS (4 rings) connectors - TRRS has integrated mic, also ofen implements playback control via buttons - Apple headphones

I'm a fan of repairable devices. And I passionately hate Apple for their Anti-Consumer strategies like proprietary SSD connectors, lid closing sensors and all this nonsense. However while planning to buy a framework I realized that som

I self-host private git, notes, audio, photos and syncthing - basically everything I don't want to store in the cloud. Hardware is an old Fujitsu D3417-B, XEON 1225, 64GB ECC and a single 2TB WD SN850x. OS is Proxmox on ZFS with a dock

I'm not necessarily asking for a "small" phone as in 4.5" or less. I'd like to have an Option around 6" and 150x70x9mm, which is not really small. Surprisingly the Pixel 8 has a smaller footprint than the Pixel

I think lit[1] is a good compromise between vanilla and framework bloat. It IS a dependency but a very lightweight and useful one. And it can act as a layer in between whenever requirind a specific framework. 1: https://lit.dev&#

Mmh... I think that the LicheeRV Nano has kind of more value to it. Around 20 bucks for the Wifi variant. 1GHz, 256MB RAM, USB OTG, GPIO and full Linux support while drawing less than 1W without any power optimizations and even supports <

Absolutely. I find it strange that Google decides to provide a fixed value of 80%. A slider from 65% to 95% would be more sufficient... 95% would probably work out for you and still decrease battery wearout...
