Yes, Northvolt tried building their factory further south in Sweden (Västerås) but was denied due to limited grid capacity. Turns out they were somewhat lucky, since electricity prices are cheaper furter north, and the energy crisis happene

We have a kid with "restrictive food intake disorder". We at one point got sent, after having gone to a therapist for a while, to the local hospitals specialised unit for eating disorders. I was so glad, finally we would be gettin

Try to simply talk about maintenability, and how they feel about adding more, maybe not always necessary, code in that regard. I have to assume those engineers are not very experienced, by the way. After a few hard-to-solve bugs introduced

Uh, there is a positively huge difference between, say, Sweden and Greece. Sweden has almost no AC, Im sure Greece has a lot. Also a silly difference in insolation during winter. Ive seen on http://app.electricitymap.org/ t

Installing wind that fast is "impossible". Remember that Europe needs to import stuff, and most things are in scarce supply at the moment. Thats not even mentioning lack of workforce, competence and permitting! It is happening, bu

Ive never even heard of a 5mA GFCI. In Sweden afaik 30mA is the standard, and I assume much less likely to be tripped up by tiny faults. Also, a GFCI install here is a simple and cheap affair. Does not require checking everything else or in

Its weird, Ive worked in development since ~2005 and I have never had recurring 1-on-1s with a manager. Every single place (including 10+ years of consulting) has had some form of scrum, where the scrum master is different from the manager,

This is sort of how it works in Sweden and probably a few other countries. Bill is split into market and (local) grid parts. Many consumers have now moved the market parts to realtime pricing, since fixed-price arbitraging has become so exp

Why can we only rely on wind and solar to 70 or 80%? South Australia had more than a week of more than 100% net wind+solar generation without much tranmission or storage or hydro, and they're still building more! Overbuilding, storage
