The idea of building something like PDF.js makes a lot of sense. I think the core crux of it though is the polyfill should be in the browser, not something that a site maintainer has to manually implement.

I love the idea of a SimCity type game with a ton of details. Having the level of detail of simulating a water distribution system is some dwarf fortress type detail. Make sure to also add a permitting office, building permit system, and HO

Often the US hires young Americans to do these jobs. It is huge for helping young people with job training and class mobility. Without these jobs it will be that much harder to find a job with no experience in the outdoor industry.

Seasonal hiring for intermittent tasks that are best done in the summer is cheap for USFS and makes sense. They don't need to be careers.

Looks like the base Kindle also hasn't been updated at all. Same dimensions, screen, weight and battery life. They also nixed the base Kindle Kids which was the best deal considering it was the same price as base and they'd fix it

The fourth photo is Olympus Mons, not a volcano on Mars; it is the volcano on Mars. I'm sure a lot of you know this, however reminding myself of how big this peak is is always breathtaking. A hypothetical ascent in our future would be

I paid $488 in 2019 for a 14 day JR pass. In 2024, the same pass is $60 more. I wouldn't call that a dramatic increase, and still within the same magnitude of affordability? https://www.jrpass.com/buy-the-japan-rail-pas
