To me this Windows hate feels like a form of a group think. But I find myself on the sidelines on many other issues, too.

I wonder if those who complain about Teams actually use it. They might not. My company forces us to use Google Chat. I would take Teams any day.

I have a feeling that singular events are more often picked in favor of climate change? Same goes with the scientific evidence too: some time series are used while others are dropped in favor of the argument. Or some time series adjustments

> The problem with USB-C is that you can't just pick up a device cable and power brick and expect them to work together. We clearly need more regulation.

In Finland Covid can be diagnosed just by flu like symptoms, even with a negative test result for Covid. Not sure how much this affects rhe stats. Practically no cases of influenza are recorded, though.

What if his claims were true and this happened? Wouldn't that be a tricky situation too? I mean, really tricky? At the same time I think Youtube has the right to do this (and whatever they want, basically). Currently there are no real

Well, a crisis situation (be it real or manufactured) is a perfect vehicle for driving all kinds of agendas. It is natural there is some opposition.

Yes. Check the Yamal Peninsula in Google Maps and you realize this kind of cratering is a process that has been going on for thousands of years (since the ice age really!).

I agree. I also have a hunch that you are in a very different bubble than I am, and the worldview that I convey from your bubble does not make sense to me at all. I think I used to be in ”your” bubble when I was a lot younger.

The problem is, the "protection" and "regulation" quickly become tools to eliminate your political enemies. In some ways this is already happening in the western world. We are becoming what we used to oppose against to.

To me the most voiced people in Hacker News represent a strange mix of logic (engineering) and delusion (group think regarding the climate change). Yes, you can count me as a denialist.

No, it’s not all of Europe. In Northern Finland we’we had even snow in the last few days and typical day temperatures hang around ten degrees Celcius (EDIT: which is actually typical).

Many times the consensus has provided scientific evidence (e.g. geocentric model) and has still been wrong. For some reason, I feel that something similar is going on with the climate debate. Mix money, politics and some aspects of religion
