“Does life have meaning” is an nonsense question. You can choose to attach meaning to your actions and your environment. Anecdotally, doing so is very rewarding. You could say the very definition of “rewarding” demands that meaning of some

InterCity makes sense to me (inner vs inter). I’m guessing “sprinter” has more to do with being advertised for shot trips. Still silly though.

My gift to any team I work with is an integration test harness that usually has some kind of DSL for setting up state. This looks wildly different depending on the project. But my theory is that if tests are easy to write then it is easy to

There is something satisfying to my mild adhd brain about doing monotonous tasks. I used to work in a candle factory, and one of my tasks was cutting birthday candles to size and packaging them. In on 8 hour period i would package ~8000 can

Betteridges Law of Headlines kicks in here. Any advice about nutrition that only advocates for eating more of something without mentioning what else you should eat less of is probably bogus.

I do think that in a kind of way intelligence and “interiority” are related. I might have the same “amount” of consciousness as a worm but my ability to investigate my experience is (I think) undoubtedly greater. “A dog can miss his master,

It’s funny you say that, considering VC funding tends to elicit a “very specific” kind of business model—a kind of “consumer goodwill pump-and-dump.”

This is a shame that many gay people in professional spaces have to deal with every day. Sure sexual orientation is a protected class. But who on the HR team, the C-suite, your senior engineering team, etc. secretly thinks you’re a disgusti

Many important figures of history have had these traits. That isn’t to say that they are good in the whole, only that it is not obvious that they are something so maladaptive that they get trimmed from the evolutionary tree. It’s only in t
