Disclosure: I work on a related project (Fluid Framework) that makes application agnostic CRDTs easily available. The CKEditor folks did a great job building an OSS text editor and they did an especially strong work building a text editor t

I’m pretty into the remarkable and run a Twitter account retweeting content. (@rehackable - inspired by the GitHub repo of the same name) The RM1 was pretty well modded, but the RM2 is currently somewhat stuck due to a missing frame buffer

There’s a lot to consider here, and I’m certainly encouraged by Adobe's long standing focus on consistent PDF view experiences. (At least compared to other formats) That being said, this feels somewhat like Adobe will turn PDFs into a

This seems to be caused by heat, not the gravity. The article includes a story about a lamp being left on in a mine that caused enough thermal expansion to be measured by a seismometer. Presumably the solar eclipse could be measured as well

Very neat article. Nasa and ETH Zurich noticed the Martian moon Phobos during the eclipse using a seismometer. The effect is tiny, but their hypothesis is that this is caused by the top level of ground rapidly cooling. The effect can be use

Good read. I like the new story format to rehash the lively startup vs big tech employment debate on HN. It could almost use a part 2 to explain aspects of the conversation (how is the employee making a $300k investment, preferred stock, et

Jeeze this is cool. It reminds me of some of my early fantasy books. Perhaps they do this in Eragon? This link is from 2015, but it appears they're still going strong [0]. The business just seems brutal. They're combining long pro

Abstract says: "intelligence contributes 48–90 times more than grit to educational success and 13 times more to job-market success. Conscientiousness also contributes to success more than grit but only twice as much..." Very chall

My twitter feed was pretty slow without the Blue Checks. The dialogue was way more in the middle . There was suddenly little conversation about today's meme (cake? idk.) The whole thing felt pretty civilized. It made me realize how mu

I'm not old enough to have been aware of the rise and fall of the mainstream movement, very interesting! I am possibly just finding the first look into the theory as tantalizing as everyone else did.

This guy is a legend. Awesome videos. A few of them seem productizable in a way most DIY-er videos don't, albeit in a limited run capacity. He made a iPad lidar to "braille" converter that was really impressive, and I'm

I guess it’s good that they reached higher temps? It does not seem like this is quite the breakthrough that will make fusion possible. Will fusion be achieved iteratively? Or will it need key new insights we have not yet discovered?

Reasonable explanation. Seems like $500 million might be over paying for one of many smart mirror workout solutions, but Lulu was already involved and hey... money's free now? I do think people are really using these things. I've

This is disappointing, although I'm not surprised. One of the best things about the Microsoft stores is that they provided an obvious way to get individual attention on software issues. My grandfather was a frequent visitor of the Micr

I used this for a bit, but ultimately found the non-determinism to be a problem for me. I ended up specifically aliasing a few common directories, going from there to sub-dirs was really easy.
