How does this work? Our fridge is most of the time fairly full so I have a hard time imagining where would I put a camera to get a good overview of its contents. It seems that the best place is about half a meter outside. Even a fisheye wou

There IS a name already. It's literate ;) Seriously though, I don't mind people who don't as long as its decipherable, but I find it odd giving punctuation (or lack of it) some value judgement.

What unholy hacks? AmigaOS had preemptive multitasking and I often ran more than one thing at the same time.

They solved it in a way where they don't guarantee you that it is water proof for more than 2 years without service and appropriate maintenance and it stops being water proof as soon as you open it.

How is it shameful if nobody can think of a solution? What is there to be ashamed of, lack of omnipotence? Tragic, disappointing sure. I also happen to disagree that it is ignored or forgotten, this article just being the latest example.

We do, just not on every tool and widget. I think you make a lot of insulting assumptions about other people. I'm sure there are many who are more frugal than me for their personal reasons, but it's not some personal failure not t

I haven't been to a conference in years because of COVID, but I've been to plenty mainly web and Python related before. Almost all of them had keynote speakers, who received a prominent spot, usually in the morning and on multi-ti

I beg to differ. Nothing more miserable than debugging email templates with tables nested to the x-th degree.

How about you also check poverty rates, rents and housing availability, standard of living, not just counting those employed (which includes zero contract hours...)? UK is not doing well and moving to the incredibly expensive London is not

Good point. My ignorance back then certainly could have played a part in my perception, but I don't think I am wrong :) I could go into details why, but I doubt specifics would be interesting to anyone. I do agree that personal ignoran

At the beginning of my career I worked in a team of 6 developers. Everyone except me was at least a competent developer. One of us did literally 80% of work. Company was paid by head so it didn't care about productivity of others and o
