Here are some other facts about the two companies: Yesterday, APPL closed at 112.71, and GOOG at 362.74. I still think getting positive publicity about a product makes that product more likely to succeed, and that there's not much harm in

Very interesting proposal here... though I think having the consumer do an http request to get the "link" from HEAD is a bit too much to ask, for a few reasons: * It takes bandwidth * It's (presumably) before a pageload, and is blocking...

I completely agree. Just imagine Google announcing these same services... I would think that there'd be a massive amount of "Google Will Soon Host All the Internet" articles, and other such grandiose things. Like you said, Amazon is one o

Has anybody has been to a conference like this before? Was it worth the price-tag ($300-500)? Anybody going to this?

Very, very cool. Kind of like the Obama promise-keeper website that I thought was cool, but then promptly forgot about. I'd like to suggest a couple of features, without which I probably will promptly forget this site as well: 1) E-m

Chatterous is really cool. I don't mind the blog layout, form follows function. What I do much mind is lack of a link to chatterous.com from the blog. So annoying.

I borrowed a "handwriting analysis for dummies" book from a friend, on a whim after skimming through it. It was just after reading a couple of Feynmann books, which is why I can so eloquently classify handwriting analysis as a "cargo cult

Here's a summary of the "experiment": * hook 24 college students to brain-scanner-majigs. * given them an economic problem.. the better they do, the more they get rewarded * have some of them do it on their own. * have some of the

I have to disagree with you here. I've found the vast majority of what I was taught followed a progression from the basics, up towards more advanced stuff, and included the "revelations" in between. There wasn't much stuff pulled out of t

For verbatim text, please add an "overflow: hidden;" style attribute of the "<code>" element. Non-breaking spaces break the entire page: http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=513183

It would ultimately depend on how the interview would go. I'm not sure she's so much an ass kisser as she is just really excited about the company. But I agree, giddiness and dog-like loyalty definitely do not impress me as much as useful

Yes... execute admin to the CEO: http://www.twittershouldhireme.com/executive-admin-to-the-ce... I think what she's doing is great. While she may seem a bit "unhinged," as the currently top rated comment says, I'd at least interview her.

Very nice looking pages, and I like the concept. Very well done so far, I think you're in the right direction. That being said, I'm better at finding things wrong with stuff than right , so here's my feedback. I thought the "Try it Now

I think it's pretty amazing that you'd have to have a 52ft x 52ft monitor to display all of the addresses in IPv4... and that 88% of the pixels on the screen would represent a device hooked up to the internet, right now .
