Yes, and it's missing tons of things we take for granted in other langauges. If you look at the "strings" section it's so short. There aren't even convenience things like string reverse.

I've looked at it before and I just don't get the appeal. UI doesn't feel sexy enough for me to spend 80% of my day in it.

I dunno I've been in plenty of situations where a department head will literally beg me to buy things so they can reach the same budget spend as last year so their budget isn't slashed (DoD), and have seen the same situation in VC

It's more than that though. There is just no standard library to be spoken of. I mean things like the most basic string processing methods, etc., are left to the programmer to sort out themself. Every time I've done contracting wo

Side note to that, a lot of the orgs that actually have medical PII (schools, especially) will be significantly less compliant themseles with things like HIPAA than the vendors they use.

Medium really doesn't need a large team. The whole product could have been produced and maintained even now by 4-5 devs. An operation like that could be donation based, for sure. Not every idea deserves to be or would even be useful as

This would actually just increase the amount of truly bad porn. If all of it is banned, no point in carefully making sure your actors are 18+. It all just goes underground. This is why places like Russia have _more_ CP, not less. It is well

My point is that the non-existence of a us-specific com suffix (.us.com) combined with the existence of country specific com suffixes (.com.mx, etc), implies that .com is us oriented, in a central sort of way affirmed by ICANN arguably. If

My one fear with a lisp-based framework would be code-injection stuff, unless janet has some way of freezing the source in production. You could do a lot of damage if you suddenly realize you can inject code via a request payload on some se

How the TLDs work is a really classic example of US imperialism. For example .gov is impossible to get for non-US entities, yet literal towns have .gov domains within the US, and there are even examples of people using .ca to mean californi

At a previous company AWS was a customer, and I can tell you from the corporate training resources I've seen, they have huge populations of support engineers in countries like India, who are contractors.

This is one reason I'm bullish on some of the new UI frameworks coming out of the Rust community in particular. For example https://github.com/iced-rs/iced looks quite good.

One thing to watch out for -- all the problems you list can also be symptoms of you simply being the only one who understands most of the code. This could be because you are the only truly competent dev, but it could just as easily be becau
