Right. The whole language is held up by a bunch of "people generally" conventions that are non-obvious and frankly difficult to figure out if you haven't been watching the language for 1+ decades. It simply isn't designe

Indeed. I would say that framework or even language-level support for putting things in "dry-run" mode is something sorely missed from many modern frameworks and languages, that old C libraries used to do.

I agree that the new syntax approaches beauty, but there are places where it just so awkwardly dodges old skeletons, and there is no sense of stability. Imagine writing JS and having it look good and utilize best practices 5 years later wit

Specifically, I would call the haphazard implementation of classes in JS one of these examples of a place where really true OOP should have been added, but they couldn't because they had to support existing keywords and web pages and l

I generally agree and for one welcome our systems-language-based-backend overlords in the form of robust Rust and Crystal-based web frameworks (Go I dislike for other reasons, but its heart is in the right place). That said, I've had t

My experience has taught me this is just untrue. My various jobs have been 100% remote for the last 6 years, so being comfortable with video and voice calls is essential to that. Going back to when I was a high schooler, I was closeted and

Unapologetically, yes, and I'd take it a step further. Often the online version is more fun and more interactive than a bunch of people uncomfortably thrust into the same room. There are things people suddenly become comfortable saying

I agree with the import of this, but there is an economy to games, and if it turns out that the gamers really do just want another installment in the old style, you're missing out on that significant segment of the market until you do
