I appreciate the answer but I want to point out that I'd rather just write because I enjoy writing, not in the hope of finding an audience. My frustration is that I don't find writing intrinsically rewarding. I think that can come

I would like to have likes to pull/point me in a certain direction. I imagine a person without likes or dislikes to be basically stuck in space and time. By shallow I meant someone who needs external prodding to grow in a certain direc

Interesting that you're using ipfs. Didn't expect to see it in the wild. I'll try your experiment with my phone's memo app.

Thank you so much for taking the time to give a thought out, personal answer. At the risk of sounding really shallow, I think your AI example and this snippet describes me to a T. > A person with no taste of their own, who is unable to j

Actually I've been off FB, whatsapp, instagram, twitter, g+ for a while now. Even when I was using those platforms, I was a very sporadic user so I'm pretty sure I was never "addicted" to the notification icon. Yet, ther

I've had the same experience even with the 2nd or 3rd pages. Makes you wonder if google isn't suffering from grade inflation.

Well, just yesterday, I had to go back a release from Ubuntu 17.04 to 16.04 because of some oscure DNS related systemd-resolved bug which I spent all day trying to fix. Mind you, this bug has been under active discussion for a while now. Si

Is actually caring for an Alzheimer's stricken relative a new phenomenon? Could it be that a hundred years ago, a chronically ill, continually deteriorating relative was just left in a room to waste away?

We are looking into a few possibilities 1. Users pay a standard, fixed monthly rate into a pool from which we pay site owners. We hope this works like insurance where sporadic users underwrite power users and everyone wins. 2. Bring in Wall

Adblocking is essentially a commodity where companies use community curated blacklists to block ads. Our USP, though it isn't truly unique, is that it is a network level adblocker. No more installing 3-4 apps on each device on your net

Not sure what you mean. If no one sets themselves up for payments, we don't lose any money while also continuing to block ads. Maybe I'm being dense but I don't see the chicken/egg issue.

As of now, we are funding the payouts ourselves. Not scalable for sure so when it starts pinching the pocket, we'll have to figure out how to continue paying content creators.
