Is that a Go board stick to the side of the rack? Maybe they play one move every time someone gets to go there to fix something? or could it be just a way of numbering the racks or something eccentric like that?

Ahhh.... yes... damn. Didn't do it on purpose. Sorry about that 0x424242. I am always getting those two mixed up, even in my mother tongue. :( I guess the point still stands as I originally intended it though. Again.. sorry for the c

That's part of the over-saturation of apps I guess. I also do the same regarding updates. More than once I've found that functionality is crippled in a newer version or it's simply is less usable so now I also avoid updating

This is very interesting! I don't really have anyone close that is visually impaired but this would be super cool to have at 3D printing events and such. Very neat idea.

I see the point. Still scares the hell out of me. Privacy is a very strange thing. Even though I know that what I comment in online forums like HN is public for all intents and purposes it sends chills down my spine to think that we as a co

I wouldn't be so sure of that. Being in Switzerland definitely helps, but still, India being a very big country it wouldn't surprise me if they had some really-bad-guys(TM) mafias capable of hurting people in other countries. Of c

Damn. I was not aware of this. I mean I was aware that spooks were aware of forums and watching them and such, but I never thought that a forum like HN would be a target for them. But I guess that after thinking for a bit HN could definitel

Nice work OP. You gave them a tech analysis that should be worth some money, for free, at the same time (hopefully) bringing to their attention how bounty programs are a helpful thing for everyone. They should be feeling very lucky about it

Actually I think there are a lot of things over the counter that affect you more than marijuana. Have you taken Dramamine (the regular drowsy version)? If I take 1 pill I can sort of keep awake but I wouldn't try to drive unless it was

Would it really be a good investment for GCHQ to keep enough sockpuppet accounts on HN to upvote something like this to the front page? What would they gain? And if they really have an eye on HN, that would probably mean that NSA as well. I

Maybe it's not about not understanding tech per se, but about not understanding the company. If they feel like they understand how Apple works by now, that would make it qualify as not not-understanding, and thus it would not break the

Probably more about its dwindling presence, and even when it's still used in some industries it's nowhere near the spotlight levels it had before I think.

I miss Delphi as well even though I never got to use it for anything professional as I was very young at the time. However I do remember very fondly how I came to know about Delphi 2 (or 3?). Somehow I met this guy in ICQ and started talkin

Maybe the comparison is made more in terms of the contemporary context for each medium, instead of in a pure 1 to 1 relation. Nowadays I would say that Facebook is more of a "format" of sorts than "just a service", in th

Some more documentation would be nice to catch the user's attention. I gave it an overlook and while it seems it can be interesting I really don't have the time to go digging around. An expanded readme would be very useful.

Wtf? "The antivirus was configured to scan for viruses every hour, and the scan started right in the middle of the procedure." Who configures an antiviurs for an hourly scan on a doctor's computer?

Some of the arguments I've read against publishers are along the lines that they take papers that were funded with public money, and thus in theory are in the public domain, yet they charge an arm and a leg for that information while a

Yeah, that why I Was surprised by the term "fan film". So what exactly does qualify as one? just as long as you don't have the copyright I guess? I mean, at which point is "fan fiction" illegal? is the legality stat

Wow. Is that really fan film? I mean... I was just mad that it ended after only 20 mins... I was so hooked I wanted it to keep going. How does a fan film get those actors? I mean, I can imagine that a lot of ST fans have money, but still. T

Triple damages? as in, if the opposing side can prove that you sometime read the patent in case, you get punished 3x because it's the same as willfully violating the patent? Wow.
