Yes but the second poll lasted for 24 hours meaning the ban was effectively at least a day - which is option b) tomorrow I bet he expected to get clear majority for 7 days.

I'm no expert but I think when cars are converted, they can run on both natural gas and on gasoline. Gasoline is used to start the car. Wouldn't that solve the range issue? Obvious problem in USA is availability of natural gas at

I've heard that they no longer accept documents in English meaning you have to pay for translation of business documents/reports/etc. Is this accurate? The guy who talked about it was an angel investor and is not really impre

This is not fascist. Most countries are made in a way to not allow parts of their territory to secede, even if they "want to do it". Just look what happens in Spain with Catalonia, what would probably happen in Scotland, Texas or

You are right, I misread. My apologies. Still the whole blog and her various public interviews are wild. I know we are operating with the benefit of hindsight but I find her very unconvincing - for example when asked about math in her job s

This satellite is in a 500km orbit. It is in the shade most of the night. Same applies to Starlink satellites. I have a feeling many people forget about this.

Did you read comments Caroline made on her blog/tumblr? Not sure of the timeline but she was asking why not double down on a 50/50 bet every time (if you lose) - you can earn "infinite" money but lose only your bet. I am

Exchanges are not a problem. If FTX kept to their ToS they would have all the funds available and there would be no collapse. But they were greedy, decided to use user funds without authorization, then lost them and the whole thing came com

I am very amazed that crypto prices have not plummeted after FTX revelations. That looks like a very big condemnation of the whole system and the market barely moved. I am not convinced it will end crypto, a lot of people still want to spec

Jack was privately talking the same to Elon. You can read more in the discovery documents (Elon's messages). The gist was it that Jack believes Twitter should be not be a company and he believed Musk will take it there. Not sure I agre

Usually you can get a copy of the article by going to archive.ph and pasting the paywalled link. It may not be most ethical thing to do but if you want to read an article or two behind a paywall, I don't think it is insane to do. This

What always surprises me why does anyone feel the need to steal from users when you are literally "the house" - you are taking a fee on every transaction. Just like in poker - if you are the house, you don't need to take risk

The point is that today you are always online on your phone. Whatsapp, Viber or Messenger always work. No need to log onto a mainframe and type forum. I feel that the point made is a good one. Given that we can share what we want directly v

Ukraine attacked Russia proper (not just Crimea) before. We all remember Mi-24 over Belgorod but there were also Tochkas fired against airbases (IIRC Taganrog and Milerovo). I don't think red lines exist. Maybe for using western suppli

Firebombing cities was a thing. There is little difference in firebombing Tokyo with 200 planes and dropping one "special" bomb. Second bomb (Nagasaki) was not authorized in some special way. Air force had two bombs available and

It's a tactic Ukraine used before. They rightly assume that most people will understand what happened so they play coy and mock Russia. It will be interesting to see what Russia says when the "accident" repeats again in anoth

It's not hard to accept existence of dark matter, but it is an extremely flexible, hard to prove answer. If you see a galaxy that rotates differently, you say it has more or less dark matter. It sounds like an easy answer.

I'm no physicist but if you want to be cheeky, you introduce a "rare dark matter" to a MOND model and explain away those rare instances. My point is, dark matter explains the observations by being very flexible. There can be

Bazooka would be more like a rifle on a ship. Much easier to aim with the roll and you get your arms to do the stabilization. Howitzer works as a mortar or if they are lucky and can aim low, as a non stabilized gun.

Water falls from the sky. 70% of the planet is salt water. Salt water can be desalinated. I also think that water wars seem unlikely as if you have energy, you can get water.

To fire a howitzer you need to calculate the angle at which you need to fire and amount of propellant. It seems like an incredibly hard thing to do on a ship and with the enemy maneuvering. It's likely you could only guess and hope for

This makes sense to me. Surface layer partly evaporates, it immediately cools down remaining surface layer and then convection spreads it around. It would enable quick "forced" cooling similar to AC and due to convection, it can c
