Trying to diminish something said in earnest by later claiming it was a joke is definitely a technique that can be used to gaslight. But right now we’re talking about a comedian who’s essentially recording himself performing. It’s quite obv

In 1955 the casting couch stuff was common place and acceptable, at least in some circles. In 2010 not so much, but still acceptable to make jokes about. After the “metoo“ movement, it’s a lot more taboo to joke about.

Diaz’s whole shtick as a comedian is that he tells these off the cuff, crazy, somewhat believable, but always totally fictional stories about himself. They’re always super offensive, and paint him as a sort of greasy criminal/mobster.

They allow alternative browser engines on macOS but not on iOS. Brave on iPad is just a wrapper around WebKit. (Same with Firefox, Chrome, etc)

I thought it was pretty well established at this point that homelessness isn’t a financial issue, but instead a mental health / drug abuse issue?

CSS is render blocking. The browser will never paint anything on screen until it’s downloaded and parsed in to a css object model. Unless you’re hyper tuning the page load performance in some specific way I think CSS is usually best served

My terminal emulator of choice (kitty) lets you configure it to render ligatures only when the text is not under the cursor. I’ve found this to be the best of both worlds. I like reading code with ligatures but would always get tripped up

I’m not familiar with shopify but I’m about to start a shopify project for a client. Can you elaborate on what the difference is between Hydrogen and a custom theme? Other than the tooling and template language I’m struggling to understand

It’s not clear to me what you mean when you say it’s the same concept. Your position is based on your own subjective preference rather than any objective fact. We’ve gone from “your actions are having a direct negative impact on my health”,

I’m not sure I understand your question. With Facebook (and my example) users have already opted in to sharing that data with FB and it’s advertisers. No tracking involved. As an aside, I think the only real problem with targeted advertisin

I don’t know. I sell a macOS app outside the App Store. It took me about a day to set that all up myself using Stripe and AWS, including a anti-piracy mechanism. The costs are next to nothing. The visibility and access to the user base that

It’s pretty simple. A VPN adds a layer of privacy between you and the server you’re accessing. You go from user A with X home IP address originating from precise Y location, to user A with generic shared IP originating from a vague location

I have a newborn and every night while falling asleep all I hear is his cooing and laughing on replay. It’s sort of like when you play a lot of Tetris and you can’t stop seeing the falling bricks as you fall asleep.

I’m familiar with the pain point you’re describing. It’s not the cascade, it’s the ability to target a child element through a selector. (Which utility based approaches do away with) But the thing is you can always do that if it’s needed. T

Verbiage is the result of bad copy writing and/or lazy keyword stuffing. I don’t think they select for or reward verbiage, but for sure they’re not doing enough to treat it as a negative signal.
