Frankly my experience with posting sources on HN has almost never been good. It's often just taken as a reason to pick those apart and start a flamewar. My comment above has been downvoted at least 5 times which makes me confident that

I'm not sure why the comments here seem so dismissive. The mechanism that eyes need red light for regenerative processes is known for a long time I think. I remember a friend working in optics telling me about that a decade ago. Eyes a

So the rumors about today were right. But this should not be the headline - TD was shut down many many months ago, despite people clinging to technicalities that it was not the case.

I think this implied that it never was down for him before when it was reported to be down. Which is exactly my experience, too. I've seen a lot of GH down posts here - it never was for me. Now it's the same.

That's quite a lot. The by far most important things for me: Floats guarantee at least 7, and doubles at least 15 significant decimal digits. That's regularly surprisingly low to many devs.

That thing is Streisand effect to the max. No one cares about his name and it wasn't secret at all before, like he said himself. It's literally a google autocomplete. And even without that it's very easy to find. If anonymi
