These events are good for one thing though: expanding your own personal blacklist of companies, organizations, people etc. Like Sony being openly racist and tripling down on that.

Is this satire? I've never heard of that sub. And all conservative or even center political subs are massively manipulated and will never show up on the frontpage ever. Which is their good right of course, but Reddit is absolutely over

That was not against the rules and was nerfed pretty fast - certainly not for years. And then they were artificially censored, held down, attacked and lied about and doxed.

That is a lie. TD was one of the most peaceful and rule-abiding political subs.

But what's so special about this case? Only the outage is. And the politics. And the virtue signalling. Many people died before and after.

They should not do politics. And if they start listing names, maybe include all the statistics. This is dishonest.

Such comments are silly because if someone would offer even the slightest insight of how that might not be entirely like that, he would be killed on the spot. edit: as in killed by HN downvoters

It looked very wonky. I cannot judge if the code does not actually produce something worthwhile, but it certainly doesn't pass any smell tests. In no profession would work looking as sloppy as that be trusted. And for the critical deci

These people don't just control the big subreddits. r/programming is controlled by spez for example. Not that he would have a problem with just changing the Reddit database manually anyways.

I actually don't think that's true. But that might depend on the country, doctors etc. Many still give the exact wrong advice of limiting fat intake, focusing on "slow burning carbs" and all that.

C++ is hard, therefore they're allowed to publish such rubbish and destroy trillions of dollars as a consequence? Critical code is written all the time. It can be expected with such decisions.

I stand corrected if that changed. I definitely remember that they offered some own binary downloader in the past (might have been a decade though). SEE EDIT At the very least they should not be the first hit if you search for the program n

The code that was released already heavily altered for a month as I recall. And in that state it contained several severe flaws. If you look at it it's painfully obvious that it's just not fit for anything critical. I applaud th
