I honestly don't get the hate toward header files. They're not great, but are they really that bad?

How else are they going to make a profit? Unless you're Red Hat, the "sell support" option just doesn't work.

I doubt they're going to kill RoboVM. I don't think they care much about which language, just that you get your tools from them.

The main purpose of their tool was running Java code on iOS. Using GPLv3, you couldn't do that.

Money isn't speech. You can say whatever you want. You're just not entitled to a platform in which to do it.

You're not entitled to speak to a large audience. And I'm not saying to completely ban political donations. I'm saying to severely limit them. Let every citizen donate $500/year to political causes, no more. The budgetin

The Supreme Court also held that "Separate but Equal" was perfectly fine. They don't get things right all the time. And the argument is that money isn't speech.

No. I'm sorry, but spending money is not speech. Restricting the amount of money that one can donate to political campaigns would be perfectly fine, and would not infringe upon anyone's rights at all.

It's not. As you said, Apple just doesn't produce cheap laptops. If you compare like for like, the PC laptops cost about the same as the Apple ones.

Apple isn't forcing anything on OEMs. Google is, similar to how Microsoft was forcing things on PC OEMs back in the day.

That's not something that developers would stand for. As a developer, I want to know that a permission was denied, so I can take action. If a permission I asked for was denied, it's quite possible my app won't run correctly.

But what are those people going to do when they fail? Chasing your dreams is great. Doing so at the expense of schooling, especially when it's possible to do both, is a gamble at best.

I don't believe that's what they're saying. They're saying that if you're better at selecting people, you won't have as many bad hires (really?). You then will be giving the training to people who will be bette
