I think the approach is a Mac-first app that follows Apple's design language, no?

Me too. Plus, since this is the 'first' article about it on HN, all the others are being closed as duplicates. I feel like this deserves more attention.

This is what's so strange to me. They weren't testing for the presence of hazmats and seemed to not care. This lab clearly isn't a prod lab, likely just research, and maybe that's why they were so comfortable leaving eve

Why does every app need a menu bar? Why not just Cmd+Shift+Space to get the universal menu to open?

What about the universal shortcut for triggering 1P across the mac? And autofill within applications? I think the newest redesign is extremely powerful. I wanted to hate it at first but I give big kudos to the 1P team for how thoughtfully

"that sully the Apple brand for quality." OK. No one remembers Apple Maps, the CSAM scanning, the crush ad, etc? Companies do embarrassing stuff all the time. At least they're trying.

Not really. They use ChatGPT as a last resort for a question that isn't related to the device or an Apple-related interaction. Ex: "Make a recipe out of the foods in this image" versus "how far away is my mom from the lu

I wonder if this announcement had anything to do with the bombshells OpenAI and Google dropped this week. Couldn’t this have been part of WWDC next month?

That's what I really want to figure out. I feel like I wouldn't have a problem with it if I knew it was 100% fake and not actual items being destroyed.

For me I can't see the symbolism part, but I have serious concerns about destroying that many things and making such a big mess just for one ad. That's just me though.

Sidecar sort of does this right now? If you are fine with the iPad functioning as a low res display that the Mac can send a few windows over to. It doesn't work amazingly well for me but I have used it a few times.

OP never said Intel wasn't trying to catch up. As far as backside power delivery, this is literally what Intel has been working on. It is called PowerVia. https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/news
