1. Name your package manager, and I can list the missing packages, or missing flags which have made my life a pain at some point in my career. 2. Yup, and the only way, should you need to set any flags. 3. True. Which is why it's nice th

I'm all for someone talking shit, but you have to be able to stand up to the blowback. I have little respect for someone who talks shit, then gets all bent out of shape that someone is talking shit about him.

I miss UO. I used to work from home, so I had a box set up that would run a simple c program that would send keys to repeat a macro based on what I wanted to train, but at random intervals. I did this because I wanted to keep up with my b

It makes far more sense for 7300 cultures to learn one additional language than for 7301 cultures to learn 7300 languages. The former being difficult, and the latter being impossible.

No, I've been compiling a list. It's a big list, so it's taking me a while.

The next few years. The only thing whiter than the GOP is the color or the average GOP's hair. Buddump pa! I'll be here all night.

I personally go through an average of a litre per day, and after I became hooked, I was really worried that they wouldn't be in business for long (often one off companies like this don't last) so it's nice to see they are doing well.

You don't start an application by having a finished product on the first day. Let Apple run with this, and we can check in in a year and see where they intend to take this. It's premature for us to glean anything off of this right now.

I've added unit tests to an existing legacy product, and it would have been simpler and faster to just re-write the application with TDD. The problem is that a project not written with TDD in mind often is very very difficult to decouple,

I'm okay with this. I'm not sure I want a party of bigots to lead the charge on copyright reform. It would put me in an awkward position. Firing the only intelligent person in the party seems to solidify this.

This is what I want to see. I really think the reliance on Asia as a centre for manufacturing is a mistake in the long run.

I am so tired of this bullshit. The iMac was never upgradeable, and it isn't designed to be. You needed two giant suction cups to get into it, and less than 0.5% of iMac owners ever did this. To buy an all in one for it's upgradability i

Very popular, to whom? Linux has what, 1% of the desktop market share. Linux is very popular on android, but I was pretty sure that Android didn't use X. That's like saying you were popular in High School because you had two friends. An

You don't need to be Steve Jobs to be a successful visionary. It's all about what is the vision, and how you can implement that vision. Committees take shortcuts, and will approve a lesser quality product because there is no direct owners

That's interesting, I've read several papers on a direct positive correlation of LOC to # of bugs. Do you have any papers to back up that assertion that there is no correlation. Common sense would dictate that the more places humans can i

There are several documentaries, and several hundred articles I've read as to the anti-trust behaviours that Monsanto participates in. Because this article doesn't explicitly lay them out for you, doesn't mean they aren't guilty. These gu

So your advice to a guy who is brand new to art, and self admittedly can't draw, is to jump right in to volume and focal points because it makes the easy task of shading even more easy?

You just answered your own question. Look at the thing you want to draw, and break it down into main mass components. Base this on the connection points, or major angle changes where the components connect. So for a car, you could start

To quote Shakespeare "The lady doth protest too much, methinks" Fighting extradition was one thing, but asylum from Ecuador has me fairly convinced there is more to the change than I originally thought.
