And storage. I work at an engineering firm that is heavily involved in these efforts in SoCal, and this is probably boring to say (without details) but the storage component is fascinating. Not my sector, though, so I won’t/can’t elabo

There are substantial efforts in California (at least in SoCal, which I’m most familiar with) right now to supply renewable energy. I’m not sure what’s preventing you from doing a search before asking such questions. Lotta information at yo

Mine is the MD770. And yeah, I didn’t research the programmability very well beforehand and was surprised to find it wasn’t easy. I simply wanted to move my Home and End keys! But I quickly gave up. Otherwise no complaints. It feels great.

I’ve used yr the past few years, too (learning about it from HN). Glad to hear that the forecasts compare to the stock weather app, since that’s something I’m always wondering but I’ve never tried anything else.

The Mistel split keyboard is perfect for me. I like that the sides are totally separate so you can adjust it however you want. I “got into” mechanical keyboards for about a month (got a leopold that felt too hard for my tastes), but then I

I wasn’t commenting about liking discord threads. My comment was focused on how you can “inline” reply in discord, while you can’t do that in slack (though someone mentioned that you can post your reply to the main channel in slack - a feat

I was very surprised by the Wheel of Time reviews (they were almost entirely racist) because I thought the casting was great in that show. It was an eye opener when I finally looked up “what other people are saying” after I watched a few ep

I like that in Discord you can choose to spin off the conversation into a separate thread, or you can reply within the main chat and it quotes the comment you’re replying to (and the quote is clickable) in order to see context. You can’t do

Also anecdotally, we were on heroku for like 10 years. Started on free tier, and as our hobby project grew, we moved up in tiers (ending at $59/mo - after that any “upgrade” would double our costs). Heroku was great for us. But they di

I switched from heroku to dokku (and DigitalOcean) last month. Overall: easy to adapt from heroku since so many of the concepts (and commands) are the same. I tried to get too fancy and set two web services on the same app (since the DO dro

Good ideas. Though I’d argue that some CVC violations can only be addressed through tickets. Window tint violations, for example, produce a dangerous situation the entire time that vehicle is in operation. No amount of traffic direction and
