Agree. I use NetNewsWire and always paste in the main URL. Hunting down the rss link is not a thing.

Yeah, without knowing much about Rust, I’ve decided from these types of posts that I should gravitate toward “app I use but now it’s in Rust.” I use plenty of Rust programs simply because people seem excited about it.

The article doesn’t express that Google is _solely_ responsible for the destruction of the concept of ownership. That statement isn’t inaccurate. It’s perfectly reasonable to be bothered by the fact that their setup worked fine for years an

Meta comment: “<doing something>… with Rust” feels like a HN meme to me. I know nothing about Rust, but I’ve noticed that there’s a top post on HN every day that followed this format.

Mine was a 2018 Q5. Had a central knob, which I thought was nice for navigating around the screen. But yeah, overall the software and system was pretty lousy. In fact, I was _never_ able to get it to connect to my carplay (or whatever I was

I saw a "trying out my parking assist" (I think it was with a Hyundai) video the other day where the guy didn't realize that the function only assists with steering and not the pedals. So he backed right into a car.

Serious competition is good! I just replaced my Audi Q5 with a Tesla Model Y (which... wasn't $100k). No panel gaps, no other problems, and the overall quality feels nicer than the Audi. Shrug! Anyway, yeah, the next few years look rea

They do not seem to. Not for speeding, distracted driving, drunk driving, etc. There’s basically no traffic enforcement here. When was the last time you’ve seen a driver pulled over on a surface street? I think I’ve seen one in the last 10

I am not not using one. On iOS Safari, with both firefox focus and wipr blocking content, the “promoted tweets” are not blocked. But the ads on every other site are.

Incidentally, I’ve been seeing more ads than ever before on Twitter. There’s a promoted tweet every four tweets in my timeline. I’m pretty sure this is more than it was previously. It’s annoying!

To clarify, I tried it a couple months ago for the first time in 6 years. They’ve been talking about the rollout of this update for at least three months. So it was unclear to me if the latest version I used was indeed this new one.

I tried duolingo for the first time in like 6 years - pretty sure I was using the “old” design and not this latest. The gamification seems obscenely high. It feels like 50% of the experience is either watching animations or clicking things

A friend and I built a site and app (latest version of the app with a third friend) for finding public pinball machines to play - https://pinballmap.com/ 14 years later and it’s still going strong!

As of yesterday the “pay to be verified” feature was probably the funniest and most interesting thing on Twitter. As of now the “pay to be verified” feature is suspended.

Where did you get "you don't speak for me"? It's "I can tell you that to us you're all the same" vs "You don't speak for the ~7.7B people not in the US." One person is trying to speak for 7.

The NYTimes The Daily podcast described the voluntary request as “the state asked people to not charge their EVs” (paraphrase). Poor quality information everywhere.
