Another thing to consider is that bicyclists behaving badly are almost always only a risk to themselves, while drivers behaving badly are a risk to others. You can’t compare the two.

I think sharrows are usually poorly-implemented - say on streets with high speeds or high volumes of cars. But I think they can be not completely worthless depending on the context. For example, Mountain View has design practices that sugge

If that happened, according to the SWITRS data you were most likely within an intersection. So yes, not within a bike lane.

No, but there was not positive publicity for sharrows in Los Angeles. Everyone either hates them, or are unaware of them (I’ve spoken with a few drivers who said they have never noticed them). I think the benefit is likely due to increased

More likely, only a dedicated path, not a lane, will fix that.

I studied the safety impacts of new bike ways in Los Angeles, and found that sharrows reduced collision rates just as well as bike lanes. https://blueskiesabove.us/entry/to-live-and-ride-in-la-do-bi... (I emailed this

It's not allowed, as far as I know. The other day I came across brand new Nintendo Switches. It seems like someone got a pile of special edition ones and then set up a flash shop where they sold them for like $120. But yeah, overall th

I’m not certain if other commenters have commentered about this yet, but in late 2019 - before they offered a paid plan - they nerfed some services. Specifically, they downgraded the “tweets per day” limit from 100 to 25. They did this with

I dislike how you can't (or couldn't - I haven't installed iOS 14 yet) arrange home screen icons like you can on Android. On Android, I would put my four most used icons in each corner, and leave the rest of the screen empty.

I’m picturing a bulk Pringles tube at the grocery store, soaring up to the ceiling. Then you place your reusable glass Pringles tube under it, pull a lever, and a fresh stack of Pringles drops into your container. I like it!

I'm not a both-sidesist. My comment has nothing to do with "both sides have good/bad people." We are currently in a situation where many on the left believe that the far right are pure evil idiots. And those on the right

I agree with this. And partisanship is largely the outcome of propaganda peddled by the media to sell ads. I know this is a narrow, arrogant viewpoint, but I view all hardcore partisans as victims of propaganda (with the caveat that perhaps
