Good idea. A niche approach is a great way to start. The most important thing he has going for him is that he is starting with little expectations. As he begins to execute in the market, he can be incredibly flexible to attack opportuniti

This may be a naive view, but using the terms in the domain name as an attribute in measuring relevance (and rank) seems to have outlived its usefulness.

Actually, I was serious. Sales are what count, not plans. Business plans turn into academic exercises. Some of the findings can be valuable, but at what cost? Do you invest months preparing a thorough industry and competitive analysis,

Despite your personal views of whether this material is suitable for general consumption, wouldn't you agree that many parents would have concerns with their kids having access to the material presented in this comic?

In my mind, Apple has made a determination that such content may be sensitive to some parents. Its obvious that the iPod/iPhone/iPad platform (apps) is not a distribution channel for free speech. From a business perspective, I understand

Really? Isn't it clear that Apple is positioning the ipod/iphone as the non-porn device? See Steve Job's multiple mentions of Android as the porn device. http://techcrunch.com/2010/04/19/steve-jobs-android-porn/ http://www.wired.com/ga

Considering the number of young kids that now carry iPod Touches, and Apple's aspirations of overtaking the Nintendo DS as a kids gaming device, I think this is part of Apple trying to be careful about what it exposes children to. They don

The trading example you mention illustrates how organizations can benefit by allowing people to innovate within the business units, see what works, and implement the successful ideas in a more scalable form. One of the challenges is whether

I don't subscribe to your theory that the wide adoption of Excel as a database system is due to corporate politics. My experience (mostly in smaller companies of <1000 people) has shown that people use Excel because of low barriers (ea

I don't see why you would suspect such a thing. All iphones already have a unique identifier, and the device is associated with your itunes account. So, Apple has all the information they need to authenticate you. I can see no evidence in

Considering that another very large tech company owes its valuation to an ad driven business model, I'd say its not a huge surprise to anybody.

Did you use Rails 3 and Ruby 1.9.1? One of the benefits of upgrading to the latest version of Rails and Ruby is supposedly performance. As many people haven't yet converted to the new version, I wonder how much of this discussion is a byp

In practice, year to year, the ability of kids varies. While you might have a strong group one year, the next year things can be much different. Imagine the jockeying by teachers to get the best students if it meant their job or a raise.

Why can't Zynga use their games as a means to move its users outside of the FB wall and into a Zynga-only platform? It seems that many of Zynga's users would do almost anything for some free game credits.
