If they're doing both, I'd reconsider that policy. A lot of people will submit a normal application and additionally reach out through LinkedIn, since for many companies their direct application process might as well be a garbage

I think the missing piece is the intermediate / non-qualified title. Junior implies to me someone who requires frequent hand-holding and coaching even on small scale tasks. Senior on the other hand should require cross-functional commu

5 years for junior for better or worse is well out of step with the industry - while you're right that you can get some massively inflated titles that are out of step with the norm, the norm is that you're an intermediate develope

Better to use something that's specified for usage like this and much more guaranteed to not change, like example.com.

I don't think I've ever seen a "AI wrote this!" script that wasn't very clearly heavily assisted or often outright created entirely by humans.

An alternate universe twitter is probably a better comparison. Content largely tends to be images or video but can be text posts as well. It started off much less "federated" where you were running your own "blog" on Tum

Spotify and Apple are both acting anti-competitively in different ways. Spotify has their exclusives (which from the looks of it seem to be largely not a huge success outside of Joe Rogan and something they appear to not be focusing on as m

I dunno that I would trust feed readers to do content negotiation properly. Again, I work with mostly podcast RSS feeds, but clients are generally atrocious about following standards (just ran into one recently where Apple Podcasts flat out

Spotify still uses RSS as a distribution channel from your host to Spotify - you supply a RSS feed through Spotify for Podcasters or another ingestion service. They don't allow adding by RSS feed for end users, but that's not all

I work in podcasts and not with written content RSS feeds, but at least in the podcasting world, I would take traffic from RSS endpoints with a grain of salt - a lot of reader clients like to request updates very frequently, and it's n

There's no doubt that one way or another the subs are going to come back. Whatever holdouts there are (well, large holdouts anyway) will be forced open one way or another. The question is how many users will leave once the dust settles

It's probably possible to automate. Deliver ads with an image that has an identifier unique to the request, and ensure that some percentage of delivered ads have their images accessed.

If your robots.txt allows access to the user agent crawling (which Reddit does except for a very small denylist), and the crawler isn't making any attempt to bypass the site's security, they wouldn't have a leg to stand on le

In practice it's serving as one though. For sure it's not a 1-1 replacement, but alternatives often aren't. Reddit doesn't work exacctly the same as Digg, and neither work like a PHPBB forum.

The data for training seems not super well supported given that Reddit is still wide open to indexing even without authentication. Why bother with an API when you can crawl the site without issues?

Given the number of blacked out subs that link to a Discord, it seems like an alternative is already there. For sure it's not exactly the same, but it seems to serve a similar purpose for a lot of users.

Reddit is still also open to indexing, so the data is still currently available with no authentication required to anyone interested in crawling it. The training data for AI theory doesn't hold water.
