I think mainly because it either becomes a time drain, that once you go without you usually realize you don't miss, or it's a waste of money (you only watch one or two things but are paying $100 a month). This whole simplify philosophy usu

That was the most heartbreaking thing I heard. The VC should definitely be named and shamed, hope it worked out in the end for that startup...

It seems like we'd be able to tell if they are geysers or something else by having a few frames of photos? A geyser would be moving in some way you'd think?

"The reason more women aren't in software is staring us right in the face but we're too busy being dismissively sexist to see it." This is the primary argument I disagree with. As someone who's worked with ad agencies, I can say sexism is

Unfortunately no. Welcome to the future of web analytics, where all inbound keywords are (not provided) :(. Google claims this is a privacy thing, however AdWords keywords are still conveniently passed on!

This is awesome, my only fear is that it only stops new Patents, giving existing dubious patents even more power, since it will be harder to create a new "defensive" Patent?

Is it so bad that an industry has high margins? $500-1000 doesn't seem that expensive for a once every 10 years purchase. Mattress salesman gotta make a living! Seems very hypocritical while we make 90% margins on software.

One suggestion I would add: Let them in right now, and confirm later. Sites that require you to wait for an email, click a validation link etc... have a higher barrier to entry. Sometimes email is slow, sometimes it ends up in spam, etc.

It was only $10 at launch, quickly dropped to $2, then $1, then was free for a while. I thought it was worth $10 honestly, it's a shame everything is a race to the bottom in the app store.

The reasons not to use GoDaddy in the past have been entirely moral/political, not technical. I've been using them for 10 years without a DNS issue like this, so it's not quite the same thing.

Starbucks is very good at staying on the cutting edge. They were one of the first to offer FourSquare specials, iTunes credits, and they seem to partner with just about any semi-relevant startup out there.
