This is great news! I may not like them, but I'm glad they decided to surface the "send to groups" feature for all my friends who are on Facebook.

I have no problem with the idea that being able to copyright library APIs might affect other kinds of APIs. See http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=2916969 for a longer description of why I think the article is talking about how apple-y o

Sure. The API Oracle is talking about is the interface between various parts of Java--if you include this file, you can now call these methods. Conversely, Twitter provide network endpoints with which you can communicate with Twitter.com. T

It is painful to watch the guys at itworld go into a spiel about APIs, only to realize the intern they asked to look this up thinks they were talking about web APIs like Twitter. Sheesh.

This is a "new" ticket. That means that Chromium WebKit has not been ported to Android.

Exactly. I was amazed at how little ground was covered by the end of the post, off on a yak shave for the part of this problem that is not hard or novel.

There are many products I like to use where I don't care about anything but using the product. For example, I recently signed up for Google Analytics and was given the "opportunity" to get emails on some topic presumably related to this thi

I like it, but I don't understand what you are saying about encryption: "These emails are encrypted with military-grade algorithms, so you can be sure that no-one except the intended recipient will ever read them." Aren't you able to read t

The earlier data points on the graph show low error rates for Safari browsers on Windows. The article may have benefited from including a larger caveat about only testing one OS, but this seems like an intellectually honest elimination of a

It may be true that SauceLabs's code for each browser is the same, but Selenium surely has significantly divergent code for each browser. I wonder how to rule out crashes caused by Selenium's browser-specific code...

The link seems to work. This appears to be someone's blog, so what do you mean by "that account has been suspended?" Fireballed looks cool, incidentally.

The OP is interested in a lack of hyperbole in the sponsored YC.news links. This is the comment section of hackernews, not the sponsored link section.

I was hoping this was a joke like the top non-pg comment. It's not, so why do you think it's okay to post a job listing in this thread? Edit: the OP added the statement about "not being above a shameless plug" after I left this comment. It'

Based on your comments here, it sounds like your circles mainly included professional contacts. Have you used twitter in a similar fashion? How were the spam levels there? Edit: My question sounded sarcastic when I reread it. I don't have a

The story sounds interesting and I want to read about it, but the page keeps throwing JS confirm dialogs at me, asking if I really want to leave. ...I wasn't even trying to leave until I had to click through 3 confirms in a row!

The things you are saying are true about livestock. The commenters above are talking about fruits and vegetables specifically. It makes sense to me that a dirt patch and sunlight out in Ohio are cheaper than setting up hydroponics plants.

Thanks a lot for posting the pocket guide. I like pretending to know what I'm doing when I eat sushi, and that guide will help to artificially limit my options so it looks less like I'm choosing at random (and eating healthier to boot!).
