I live in the north of England where temperature varies from 38F in Jan to 57F in August. It's pretty chilly for me, so I tend to spend a considerable amount of gas throughout the year. I'm renting a house, so deep work like insul

Definitely a drop in EU nursing and health-related staff (up to 87% in post-referendum). This may have been balanced with an increase of non-EU staff, but the direction is still wrong (understaffing increasing year on year). https:/&#

I don´t really agree with the Red Hat part of the examples. Red Hat has Fedora, CentOS and RHEL. The new approach makes sense to me, Fedora is the upstream to RHEL, RHEL is the upstream to CentOS. Additionally, users can use (up to a limit)

I don't think it's honest to lump "tech workers" in a single bag. For starters, introverts and extroverts might feel very differently regarding WFH.

I don't know if it's placebo effect (i.e. I'm believing this is better), but I always struggle with dark mode colours and this felt very easy and natural on VSCode (using Dark+).

That could be the underlying masculine message. Posing with a cat can be interpreted as "I can stand razor-sharp claws sinking my flesh and still smile for the picture".

What is your view on why did Ruby missed Python's current spot? Did it miss the data science/ML boat?

Well, it's not exactly a rigorous scientific analysis, is it? I'm willing to bet you can find the sentence "People never had it better" in print all the way back to 1894. What would that prove?

Side note, GitHub's URL scheme is so counter-intuitive. I spent the first 10s wondering who this readme user was and how could they have such a different main page. Then there's the orgs at the same level as users...

Of course I wish he never has any problems ... but on human rights and fairness grounds, not because he's a famous athlete. Others in similar situations might not be celebrities.

I love that Perl exists. It's one of those things that, if days had 72 hours and the human average lifespan was 300 years, I would love to master. Unfortunately, that isn't the case.

A "fictional Wikipedia" seems like a nice project. Something that could grow organically from contributors with an effort to cross-link and cross-reference. Is there anything like this?

Honestly, I love Heat and Michael Mann not because they are great movies all around, but because I love Michael Mann's aesthetics. I'm totally ok with the cliches and basic stories and just appreciate the glossy atmosphere.
