For relatively simple data, like small structs, you can use memoization to achieve immutability. Programming in Lua has a section on it. http://www.lua.org/pil/17.1.html

Yes. However, C# uses the convention that capitalized "fields" are actually properties, and lowercase ones are true fields. For example, Foo.X might be an x position, returned from a getter method, and set with a setter method. In

The height limit is still 256, I believe. There is a mod that uses cubic chunk loading to avoid this.

I have a summer birthday, and our schools use a September cutoff, so my parents had me do kindergarten twice, so that I would be the oldest, rather than the youngest. Instead, I ended up skipping 1st grade after that, negating my age boost.

At my high school, there were definite groups, like the athletes, and the top students, and skaters, stoners, band kids, choir kids, etc., but there was a huge amount of overlap between them. You could find someone with any combination. My

At my high school, just about every AP student participated in sports. School sports are good because their cost is only around $100 for a season, with generous financial aid for those who cannot pay, vs. local teams which can be thousands.

There is another program arranged in a similar circular shape that calculated pi experimentally using it's own source code as the circle to test.

However, it says in the problem that you are offered the switch before you open the envelope. So, you can't know if your original choice was $20 or $80,000.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but here's my analysis. There are two envelopes. One contains a value x, and the other has 2x. You pick an envelope at random. Let's call the envelope you choose z. The variable z is a random variable

Unfortunately, the scanner would need to reverse an md5 hash, if I understand correctly. This is not impossible, but not very practical.

It's better than that -- you don't have to trust either compiler, just that they both don't have the same backdoor.

Of course, languages like Java have StringBuffer objects. In Lua, if you are generating a string, and you know that it will need a lot of concatenations, you can use something like this: local string_buffer = {} while condition()

There's also a Toupee Fallacy effect going on -- you never see a good looking toupee - because a good looking toupee is indistinguishable from real hair. The same way, you will never notice normal homeschooling kids - because you will

Win-X gives a menu with the control panel and a lot of other options. Once you get used to it and look up the keyboard shortcuts online, it really is better than 7. Unfortunately it isn't discoverable.

Part of the US system is protection from tyranny of the majority. Prop 8 in California banned gay marriage. It was passed by a 52% majority of the people, but struck down in court. That said, I think that everyone should attend a school. Ev

AP Statistics needs a graphing calculator or a computer. I think a calculator is a more realistic option. At my school, you could buy a TI-83 or TI-84, or you could check it out from the library for the year, so it didn't have to cost

There is a definite difference. The .gif has a dithered appearance, while the video is blocky. A good animated picture format could be similar in size to video, while maintaining the advantages of a gif.
