These articles always compare Hurd to Linux. I'd love to see a comparison with Minix3 or Genode/L4 instead.

We already do documents for clients in electronic form where possible. The limitation usually is outside bodies such as banks who insist on 'wet ink' signatures. It does reduce fussing, for example when signing a multiparty contract, but it

This does look cool, but I'm torn - I find something really attractive in its antithesis: beautifully designed purely mechanical watches that only do one thing and do it without electronics or batteries or Bluetooth connectivity. Self conta

If China had a justice system where trials were carried out in the open rather than in secret behind closed doors and a press blackout, then it would be easier for us to determine the truth...

I was giving my four suggestions to show how the author could have chosen more variety; eg functional, oo, concatenative and distributed/actor. Mercury/Oz mentioned by Mahmud below is another great idea, they don't get nearly enough love.

I'm always suspicious of phrases such as "ripped his arguments to shreds" especially in such a young and contested field as AI and doubly when dealing with the difficult issues of sentience and Strong AI... I'm not accusing you of anything,

This may be true but if it is I think it must be specific to JavaScript. It's the opposite to my experience with Self, which is that prototypes help my code be clearer and simpler.

Some thoughts: Given a sufficiently flexible and late-bound class system (like Smalltalk's), the differences between prototypes and classes can blur. But in general I would say that it is easier to build classes on top of prototype systems
