It's 69° south, so it's not so much the south pole as the polar region. For reference, the major landmass of Antarctica starts around that point on Earth. McMurdo Station is at around 78° South.

A limit to the speed of causality makes physics so much simpler. Without it you'd need to factor in the interaction of every particle with every other particle in the universe.

Regulators are playing way too fast and loose in this case, but given the number of human drivers that collide with firetrucks - just drop the "for a computer" from your definition.

Yes, those temps are absolutely sane for hot air. You didn't specify that.

Genius. I've opened up a few devices to put aluminum foil between the LED and the case. The nice thing about aluminum is you can poke a tiny hole to let a small amount of light through.

Smaller parts are so much easier with a vacuum pen. You just need expensive tips for 0402 and smaller.

There's fish tank pumps that can be easily adapted and work great. You use a luer fitting to attach the vacuum tips. From there you can add extras, like pass the tubing through a pen and epoxy the luer to the end of the pen. A foot ped

Superconductors don't make dynamic power somehow go to zero, switching from one state to another still means draining the capacitance.

So what you're saying, is that even with a weaker el nino, we still have higher global average temps? And this is somehow "sensationalized?"

That's generally how things must work. If a bunch of companies are polluting a river with industrial waste because if they don't, they won't remain competitive and profitable with the other companies that do, the solution is

It's well known that iptables operates on the normal sockets layer. It would similarly be surprising behavior if you could not see packets that are present but dropped when running tcpdump. Note that this distinction only applies to pa

I don't see how money spent on advertising billboards improves anyone's lives. The money is just going to leave owners. At least with media the advertising dollars are funding media creators.

I suspect this is less about scraping and more about artificial manipulation of view counts to both push certain scams/tweets to the top. I don't think they are providing advertising kickbacks yet, but that would only amplify this

The worst part about this is last I checked, Android requires location permission to connect to a BLE device. Presumably because BLE scanning can determine location.
