I feel similarly with Ulysses. In my case, I organize my thoughts in sheets from a legal pad. This maps nicely with sheets in Ulysses. I want to like Scrivener but it's not quite the right fit. I'm glad it exists though - this is

Gobo is a cool district - one of my favorites. I used it for a while in college with good success. Back then I recall the process for packaging being a little rough. I should give it another go to see how it has evolved.

Working for Big Company... Three year rolling cycles for servers. That is, you're not replacing hardware all at once but incrementally. Similar for dev machines. If you imagine a dev has two dev boxes and a laptop, spread that over the

I'd agree with author. I have noticed better battery life than the author, usually in the 9-11 hour range. I tend to aggressively close tabs by habit so that likely helps. Rest of setup is running Atom, Mail, Outlook, and OneNote. Spri

My sister-in-law is going through this right now. Her husband passed away a little over a year ago. So much of this resonates with her own experience and what she's told me... it's as if the article was written by her.

The usage of Electron, while convenient, is continually irritating to me. Power consumption matters and "hur dur lets repurpose our web app for desktop" is annoyingly bad for power. I get why companies do it, I just wish they woul

Getting quickly to my position would be a frustrating proposition. A considerable portion of how I got where I am is because of the mistakes I made. I wouldn't want to have gotten here faster and the pursuit of getting to "senior&

Agreed. When I joined this team we used to hop around a lot on projects. I came from a low level team in a much bigger division and so I'd spent the first 4 years of my career focusing heavily on fundamentals. After getting comfortable

Credit is uninteresting to me. I don't do most of what I do for credit. I either do it because it interests me or because it's what I feel is right. I suppose there's also the self preservation aspect where I do what I do bec

The primary backbone of Azure is an OS known as "Red Dog OS". It's based off of Windows, with much of the core kernel tailored by Dave Cutler. When you're running Linux on Azure, it's via Hyper-V or rather the Azur
