A fair point - I'm not contesting the need for it just curious as to what people are doing. I record my demos now as I don't care for live demos but that's just my way of dealing with it.

That's fair and that's why I'm asking the question. I'm curious what others are doing that they feel they need more than 16gb. I'm not contesting people's needs, I'm curious what they are.

Wut? I guess my viewpoint is skewed as a developer. I spend most of my time making the product I work on use as little RAM and CPU as possible. RIP js developer's RAM.

This is a sincere question: what do people need with 32 GB of RAM on a dev laptop? I work on an MBA 11" with 8GB and I'm using Parallels to run Visual Studio 2015 for a work related project (100k+ C#/C++ codebase). Other than

At least in my opinion, the ThinkPad Carbon X1 is glaringly missing in that lineup.

As a fastmail user for the last 3 years, I would say fastmail. I pay $130/3 yr so about $3.61 a month. Considering how integral email is to my day to day life, the cost of a drink at Starbucks seems reasonable to pay per month. The fle

This is neat. I'm curious if the author has gotten to test it with a Gigabit internet connection yet? I initially intended to build my own router when I got Gigabit internet. After some research, I settled on a SOHO solution that seeme

I think anti-glare is helpful. For a while I had a pair of glasses with and a pair without and I definitely preferred anti-glare on work days. It is something that is added when they make the lenses.

This is not new. Been in the OS at least since iOS 8, maybe iOS 7. It's also not hidden... it's part of the system services listed. Sensational headline.

With regard to your last comment about hiring senior devs with experience in the stack: I would say it depends on what you're hiring for and your long term vision for your team I think. In my team's case, I was hired to do ML/

I'd imagine it's not much different in Central and South America based on my travels. You can walk into any pharmacy and show them the word "amoxicillin" and they'll give you a 2 week course. Edit: a word

The great thing about it is it's pretty much "batteries included" by default. I only had to configure four things: tab width, insert spaces, colour theme, and show tabs/spaces. I finally took the plunge over the long wee

I have one for my gigabit connection at home and quite like it. It's able to hit about 933mbps to WAN->LAN which is important. Note: I don't use OpenBSD on it, just the default OS which is a custom roll of Debian.

In he case of the IBM Power processor, it'd be difficult to find the individual pieces. The computers are typically sold as prefab units by IBM or a third party. Not much of a build-it-yourself market. That said, they're expensive
