I am part of the generation, but actually agree with what he's saying. The article on HN he was critiquing, I also read, and felt "really, mate, you're complaining about this?" Hard work sucks, it often involves things y

Not directly, but if you have a router that runs linux (or has an equiv. to /etc/hosts) you can filter them at the router level.

This is better than Christmas for me... Though I am an atheist (but I still like presents!). There's almost nothing I wish for more than a ZFS based world. If that OSX version wasn't in alpha, I'd install it right now. A trul

Of course none have been! :) ... and none will be. Because 90+% of online politics discourse is dominated by trolls. People who want to have actual discussions, and listen to differing opinions, will be driven away en masse. Leaving the tro

Preface: I really like what the site is showing, the below is more food for thought, and perhaps a wee-bit of direction for those looking to persue it deeper. Also forgive me, as it became time to proof read, it became beer time. ==========

I've actually found pinching and zooming to be more than adequate... And even a bit of squinting I find acceptable because it lets me easily skim a page for content. When I have to scroll forever just to find the content I'm look

I think it looks fine. Everytime someone wants to make a mobile experience better, I want to kill a kitten. More often than not it makes vastly worse. Why can't people just keep it to themselves. Steve Jobs and Co. gave me a real brows

You don't have to smoke it. You can eat it or vaporize it. So keeping it illegal because one form of consumption, may, be harmful is okay? I think you're missing the point and focusing on one quite minuscule detail. I have yet to

I dont mean to say you are insinuating the following, but i feel it is important to say: Is that reason enough to keep them there? Isn't it better to do the right* thing at some point, than do the wrong thing forever? Should an innocen

I think it's fucking awesome and it works like a boss in FF 24 (beta) on OS X. I'm very excited about this project only because standard UI elements are so irritating to make (after having done it hundreds of times) and the altern

I disagree with the idea that "[...] every device on earth runs JavaScript makes me bet that Node will prevail." Because Node does not strictly equal Javascript-- V8 is not Javascript, nor is spider monkey. Most node applications,

I think this redesign is pretty bad for UX but great for design (e.g. it's pretty but useless). 1.) You cannot make a PR from the main repo page anymore, you must go to a branch. 2.) The number of commits is emphasized over the number

While in principal, I love this... Because JS is not my favorite language... I just don't see the real world benefit. It's going to: 1.) increase difficulty debugging (compiled js -> scala) 2.) decrease productivity, see #1 Why
