If "free software" is the wrong term for the license then the discussions might not be relevant at all to the Free Software Foundation or the free software community. I highlighted right above how one of the desired use cases of t

The GPL is based around a well-defined set of ethics that centers around giving the user complete freedom to use and modify the software. This is necessary for software to be considered free. It's certainly possible to restrict usage

Anyone can add ethical stipulations to the license of their choice but the result is no longer a free software license. A license requiring a user to adhere to the software developers' moral code is the opposite of a free software lice

Whether software is used for ethical or unethical purposes has nothing to do with the license. There is no possible way to bake subjective ethical usage guidelines into a license and still end up with free software. Trying to license "

The parent didn't mention anything about saving money, or building a machine from parts. You can order a custom build from any number of OEMs and have a same-day on-site service warranty. The point about building a technically superior

I announce my projects so people can tell me how stupid I am and it makes me more determined to succeed and show them how they are actually the ones who are stupid. I guess I'm petty like that.

The asteroid's orbit will decay and will collide with its orbiting object, breaking it into pieces and sending a much bigger chunk directly back at Earth.

And that's fine. To the extent that stored data represents a security risk, sanitization can and should be done on the server side.

It's a lot of handwaving. So Google improperly saved HTML into database string fields and now needs to figure out how to safely render it in a template. We don't need a new web "standard" to help them wallpaper over thei
