While this shouldn’t legally be allowed to happen, in my opinion, I do agree. Consumers don’t feel any ownership of the bigger picture. Most people refuse to make ethical purchasing decisions and happily give their money to people they know

That’s really the question, isn’t it? The article makes it sound like hiring “open source devs” may be part of the strategy, which essentially amounts to anyone with a public GitHub repo.

I’ve heard it isn’t. From what I’ve heard, the salaries aren’t that outstanding, and the people getting them are being paid for their experience with the environment, not the language.

Unfortunately, that seems to be the norm for people with diet. For some reason, personal food choice and health ideology seems to fall into the same category as religion and politics.

The Zig language community is small. I think it’s more comparable to “Eric Clapton is a valued member of the local music scene, so I’d rather not engage with that scene”. Not that he’s actually comparable to Eric Clapton, but yknow.

Still, the common advice seems to be to learn COBOL for big salaries. In reality, it’s nowhere near what’s defined as “big salary” in software engineering, more like “totally average”.

To attempt to answer the second - I’ve heard the often-repeated “COBOL pays great!” statement isn’t actually true. From what I recall (no personal experience), the pay is quite a bit less than big tech, with the downside of an antiquated la

While it is kind of absurd, to be fair, B12 has documented useful benefits for people that aren’t deficient. Also, your body eliminates any B12 it doesn’t use in urine, so not really any risk of overdose.
