FWIW, this is a very subjective sentiment. I really, really dislike things like you described. Software is a tool to me. Let me do my job with it as simply as possible. No distractions and don't get in my way. It would be like putti

I have used and like HTMX. But I think Unpoly is more batteries included, in a good way: https://unpoly.com/ It has more built-in functionality that most web applications are going to need.

IMO, if apple were to make a TV, it wouldn't be dumb. It would probably have similar software as their current Apple TV hardware.

Nit: they have a partnership with Tailscale to offer the VPN as a part of a tailnet that subscribes to the service. But, it's not white label. White label implies it would be Tailscale VPN (or similar) with no reference to Mullvalad i

I think mise gets a lot right. I use it for environment variables, Python virtualenv creation and activation, and task scripts. I've been a software developer for over twenty years and am usually reluctant to use new tools. But mise

Ditto except NextDNS as default on my network for DNS blocking. I can switch to cloudflare DNS in Firefox to circumvent DNS routing which is occasionally necessary, mostly to make email links work.

As a thought experiment, imagine someone had built Anaconda for C and then, instead of making Python APIs out of those mostly C libraries, just left the interface as C. Same packaging solution, same libraries, but the user has to learn C.
