Correct, although there are a group of us looking to change this rule and the FCC seems receptive. It is the AARL that is a bit slow on this issue. The original rules were drafted during the cold war, so times have changed. More importantly

Except for the fact that Channel 1 bleeds into almost all of the amateur 2ghz band. The center frequency puts the left side of the channel into our band and has made it a mess. For those interested in how these frequencies are used by HAMs

Our IT security department was incentivized to deny everything from new tools to new internal applications. We had an outside firm making security decisions and if there were any security issues it would end up being on them. So as long as

I hope they fail. The sidewalks in Long Beach are a mess with these scooters. I see kids who are clearly not old enough to drive riding these things around, sometimes three on a scooter. Meanwhile the bike share program bikes now sit unused

From the drivers I know, they much prefer to drive for Lyft. Almost entirely because they say Lyft riders leave much larger tips and Uber drivers tip much less if at all.

It is a fact that as we age we prefer to go to bed earlier. There is a good evolutionary explanation for this. It makes sense that teenagers with better eye sight would stay up late to watch over the tribe / livestock at night, this pr

I don't understand why these tech companies love building headquarters in areas where property prices are unaffordable even for their own high paid workers.

The problem is dealing with software and databases that weren't designed for deleting and anonymization. I do not envy all the developers who are going to have to rewrite crappy legacy code to be compliant.

Yay. I thought I was done with work for the day but I'm going to start seeing how this update goes. I doubt I will be allowed to spend much time updating packages during the week.

Maybe try and find work with a non-profit. I could never go back to a corporate or "start up" environment. I enjoy feeling that I'm doing something that will actually make a difference to someone other than shareholders.

This is scary. I'm 30, and I can't imagine doing anything else with my life. I have no formal CS education, but coding is huge part of my identity. I would do it even if it meant being poor. Of the developers that I know that are

I suspect the friends API feature was actually created for the Obama 2012 campaign. I know they used it very heavily in their phone banking app online in 2012. They were also collecting this data.

This stock is still well above where it was a few months ago. I sold my FB at 140 because I felt it was overvalued. I wouldn't blame Zuck for thinking his company was overvalued at its current price.
