I don’t like those 48 hour coding hackathons without sleep or shower. They are useless and detrimental to health. I don’t like techbros’ hangouts, with beers, playing pool, and occasional jerking off jokes. Thanks for saying this. I feel

Engine before the front axis, making the engine weight work against the rear-axis, ouch! That's a recipe for poor driving dynamics. This could have legs as an EV though.

Quite refreshing to hear a European voice in this debate (not suggesting that she represents all Europeans -- but it definitely strikes a chord with me). She's wrong about one thing though: Damore was fired, basically, for making a we

Everybody blames the author for creating a disturbance, but you can't create a disturbance without people being interested in what you say. This. This is the core of what's going on. I wish this was the #1 reply on this thread.

Note that this only works for objects that don't have any flexible parts and don't interact with the water in any other way than pushing it aside (e.g. soak water).

How about firing air at an object through a series of nozzles, measure the resulting turbulence and then solve for shape ;-)

However, to actually have the C++ compiler do inlining at compile time (LTO be damned), we have to put the definitions of inline functions into header files, which greatly increases their size and processing time. I can't think of a

When I see rich people being greedy, I find it hard to imagine how much worse they would be as human beings if they were poor. They probably are poor, at least from their viewpoint, because humans like to compare themselves against thei

Totally off-topic but I always take slight offense when headlines talk about "apps" when the actual meaning is websites or web services. For example I clicked on the headline expecting content about the speed of Android / iOS

I think the question is a little too unspecific for there to be a good answer. The field is vast and depending on which thing in computer vision you want to tackle the best learning paths may vary greatly. Just to give a bit of an overview:

I figured it out eventually but at first I thought X was percent of people. Also confusing is the "8 hours per day" subscript. Took me a while to figure out it actually is the Y axis labeling (but poorly placed and styled).
