Being a developer that works with Rails daily, the first thing that jumped out at me was the code on the screen in the landing page image. Rails hasn't used named_scope in a long time :) I also found this bit to be just wrong "I&#

Actually, Nintendo does still sell copies of the original Mario (and other Mario stuff obviously), so I think you were downvoted for suggesting that big names would even consider something like this. It's not realistic.

What are the parameters for "active development"? The "Mario World" clone hasn't been touched in a year, but is listed as having active development. Edit: Sorry.. was 1 year. The only more recent commit was a translation update 6 months ago

They provided a service that would shell into your servers and install the software needed to run your app for you. It was meant to take the burden of writing chef/puppet scripts to build and scale your app environment

That's pretty common practice so you don't get the IP of the machine your web server is on passed to the app instead of the user's ip.

If I remember correctly, an earlier version of Appcelerator's Titanium let you do that. But they killed it along the way, I believe.

They are not talking about Ubuntu being closed. They are saying that Ubuntu would drift toward being more like Mac OS X, but be more open than Apple is with Mac OS X.

In theory that would work, but the effort to get all the dependencies working for each gem could be overwhelming.
