The main problem is the average wage in that part of Turkey is a few thousand dollars a year. In Syria of course is a fraction of that. You just aren't going to get Japanese/Chilean/Californian quality construction.

4 day week is here. It feels as Fridays are virtually no work days already, office is empty, hard to find people online, lots of people just do a few token mails and maybe a side project.

Thanks I've been debating this. 8GB just feels wrong but I hate to pay that Apple upgrade premium.

Lyn Alden sounds like an expert but never worked in the financial industry. Either that makes the reports clever outside view or misleading detail of someone who doesn't really understand it. My money is on the latter.

I have two friends that had AirBnB rentals, they've both given up. The initial novelty and fun quickly wore off and became a grind. The local LLC with 10+ properties will stay the norm now I think.

This can be overcome. I know in the UK it was similar, 60s and 70s manufacturing quality was very poor. In the 80s factories started with quality management processes, 9001 etc and quality really dramatically improved.

The problem is if you start later, you'll end school later which means you'll start activities/dinner/homework later and go to bed later and there wont be much difference.

I just dont like moving parts. My problem with heat pumps is that you have to replace every 10-20 years which seems wasteful.

I got a job back where everyone is in the office 4/5 days a week. Its great I love it, its really annoying when someone works from home a day and you can just go over problems. Look for jobs like this, they're still out there.

For me its not the language its the tools. Writing code is getting easier but to deploy and monitor microservices on a cloud requires dozens(!?) of little tools, scripts, config files all different.

Its crazy there isn't more competition. I was hoping that would be one thing cryptos would be good for. One thing I think regulators could do is force cc fees to be added to the price instead of hidden. Eg a $10 item costs $10, $10.20,

Every company that pays above average needs a good clean out every now and again. People dont want to work hard forever and will start to coast. You need some way to incentivize and/or remove them.
