It’s consistent. Go after the big guys, suppliers and other enablers. Not after the individual addict.

Exactly. Us humans do a lot of things that aren’t optimal but make us feel good for some reason. Why do people like cats? They often are assholes but we still love them. Why would animals be different?

My mom is 94 and in reasonably good health for that age. My dad just died after a decade of decline with dementia. My mom often tells me that she just doesn't want to wake up one morning. And she wants to go out while she is still on t

That’s actually not that hard. You need a long lens. there are a few websites that tell you when the ISS crosses the sun in your area with exact time of the crossing. When the time comes, you set up your camera with a solar filter and do a

Make sure you get a lot of beans. They are pretty good on protein. How do you notice that you need more protein? I hear that quite a bit but I have no idea how it manifests.

My parents both grew up on farms and for them meat was something you had on Sundays. The belief that a meal is only complete with meat seems pretty new.

Reagan did enormous damage with this quote. Instead of asking for better government people now believe that government can never work. Unfortunately things don’t work without any government so we have a permeant state of bad government.

I can think of a few: - being invaded by another country - food safety - being robbed - being paid by my employer Many more. They are not completely solved but vastly improved. Try places like Sudan or Somalia and see how life is without a

The whole thing is just insane. Instead of going up the supply chain and arresting the big fish, they are creating their own supply chain and go after addicts. Everybody involved in this should get fired. Almost as stupid as the FBI years a

My ex had surgery years ago. The hospital messed up something with billing so she had to go to 20 different companies to make them redo their bills. Took a year of almost full time work.

It also depends on what comes next. E.g. if you have a long straight coming up, you want to straighten out things as soon as you can, so you can accelerate early and take that speed into the straight. It often makes sense to sacrifice speed

You also tend to compare yourself to others. For example, I am not happy when CEO gets a 20% raise while telling the rest of us that money is tight and no raises can be given. We all want some level of fairness.
