The result is the same. If a manager can’t judge whether their employees are trustworthy they are not competent for the job.

“The fundamental issue is that in almost all larger companies, upper management does not trust that their employees are either intrinsically motivated to do a good job, or are smart enough to determine what "a good job" is.” That’

At least it’s a less known school. Usually they mention only the big names like “Stanford scientists…”. When it’s a lesser known school it’s just “Scientists….”

When I went to a boxing gym in Maryland there were a lot of young black guys. For them going to prison was totally normal thing. Often they themselves had been to prison or their relatives. Some had scars from gunshots. I can’t even imagine

Has there been another Supreme Court that has overturned as many precedents than the Roberts court? It looks to me that this court will have a huge impact far into the future. They are less activist when it comes to ethics rules though. The

Same for me. I tried DT for 2 years but never got comfortable with it. Lightroom just works for me from editing to keywording and geotagging. And the AI masking stuff in Lightroom is really good.

Question for the techies here: Due to lack of political will and deep-seated corruption I believe a lot of issues in the US system are almost unfixable but I always wonder why it has to be so convoluted (besides being hyper-expensive). Why

Don't most countries do this? I am pretty sure the US has lots of spies everywhere and they spy on allies (famously on Angela Merkel's phone) and enemies. Israel spies on other countries including the US. Does China do anything d

I mined a ton of bitcoin with a friend when it was really new and then forgot about it because it was useless at the time. I kicked myself already at 1k and would have sold then. That is, if I hadn't thrown away the disk with they keys

If you make a little effort it gets easier once you hit 50s or 60s. People in their 30s and 40s are very busy with family and work. This changes once kids are gone and people near or have reached retirement.

I am sometimes jealous of religious people. They have a clear vision of the meaning of life and churches give them a social group they can join. Us atheists don’t really have something like that.
