That comparison makes sense. And a lot of management will probably use AI because it’s “cheaper” although the results aren’t very good.

Caring for a dementia patient properly is all consuming for the caretakers. You don’t want to do this to your family. Getting help from a robot would be a win win for all.

My father has dementia. I have some hope that robotics together with AI will make good caretakers for people with dementia. Interacting with him is not very complex. It’s basically just a repeat of the same conversations. Very labor intensi

I think the Loan Forgiveness Plan as planned was just a very expensive stunt that fixed nothing. Instead they should work on reducing education cost (or at least limiting future growth). Otherwise it's just a straight subsidy for schoo

I struggle with that all the time. We have a lot of offshore people and I am pretty sure that 3 experienced people could take on a project that requires 50 offshore people and get it done in less time at higher quality.

The sad thing is that in many cases working on such a system is a career killer. Nobody wants to hire you. Some years ago a colleague and I realized that our company wouldn’t hire us judging from the job descriptions because we worked on sy

Self promotion is just way more accepted in the US vs most European countries. You notice this in ESA vs NASA. I also notice it when I read resumes. Resumes from European countries are way more subdued than ones from the US.

That’s the beauty of the current situation. Instead of government it’s private businesses that are building a surveillance machine of unprecedented scale. The Nazis or Stalin would have loved to have such infrastructure.

One way to keep my sanity is to take a look at the big picture every six months or so. You quickly see that basically nothing has changed but there was a ton of noise in between. The same works for news. Ignore news for 3 months. When you r

It's fine if done in good faith. Debating somebody like Kennedy is a losing proposition. He will bury you with a ton of nonsense that "feels right". Refuting every point takes way more time than you have in a debate.
