Why are you forcing the look from the provider's perspective? OP mentioned an alternative that is cheaper (free), so it's expensive from user's perspective.

I don't think the statement implies any of that. Just that they can't guarantee privacy while operating in US.

I would categorize it as the "people making profit" bracket. Selling tickets, merchandise, ... But then there's the group of consumers of course, which is worrying.

Another one: http://otter-browser.org/ Maybe a bit more "punk" (no company, OSS effort).

I'd guess the number one reason is it's easier (cheaper) to film if you don't have to fake natural light.

Yes, GPL exists, and people use it all the time. How is it relevant to what I've written about some people avoiding it?

Well, both really. Even with open source, if I want to license my code under whatever license for whatever reason, I can't use GPL code. And I'm not arguing for people to not use GPL. All I'm saying is there are valid reasons

Arguing for something automatically means you agree with it and support it, apparently. So if I say why would people use less restrictive license for certain project, I apparently hate GPL and/or don't understand it. I guess.

It's not just fashion. It's a question of "Do I want someone to use my software?", because with GPL the answer would be no for a lot of projects.

This was definitely not before pirating. Some C64 games came on cassettes and were extremely easy to pirate (compared to cartridges). And even before that, arcade games were "pirated", so instead of a license an operator would buy

It's not Mandela Effect. It's just that I know her only by her works from that era. I have never seen her perform in my life, TV or otherwise. Not saying she didn't, but I only ever saw her in these old music videos...

It should be noted that while IBM is a global company that shares a lot of processes across globe, this might not be something that is identical everywhere. It kind of shows valley-centrism of OP, or I guess of everyone working there.

Another somewhat similar (in that the result is unintuitive) problem about false positives: Imagine that you have an HIV test that is 95% accurate (false positive rate of 5%). and around 2% of tested population is infected with HIV. What is

Wasn't able to connect to freenode. SSL didn't work at all, then without SSL I was "throttled" (few minutes later). So only one thing I can comment on is that the connect form shouldn't be reset every time.
