For what it's worth, I've found that F# has a similar 'feel' to what I'd expect from a typed CoffeeScript. I'm not sure exactly why; it's probably just the look and shape of the code, along with the lack o

I've found that writing React render methods in plain CoffeeScript is actually pretty pleasant, too. I gave it a try not long ago and it came out looking pretty similar to Elm.

I don't think that particular example is illogical. it's basically the same as writing something like new String[1] == new String[1] in Java, which would also be false.

I tend to work on multiple large monitors most of the time. But thinking back on it, some of the most productive programming time I've ever had happened on a netbook with a 10 inch screen. For some reason, having limited workspace made

I think that certain parts of the developer job market are easy to get into. And in those parts of the market, things feel a bit bubbly right now. And so you're seeing big salaries for new entrants to the market. If you jumped into the

Working as a .NET developer is relatively unusual for a bootcamp grad. That's not a bad thing - and you might find it to be a significant advantage in the long run. It's one of those things that isn't likely to help you get a

If I remember correctly, that was actually Bautista's idea when the team was in a slump. The manager decided to give it a try, and the team started winning so Bautista saw quite a few games batting leadoff.

Seems like kind of a paradox. Too much to do, so you'll sleep when you're dead. But sleep deprivation will kill you, so you won't be able to finish all those things that are keeping you busy. :)

Maybe a hub-and-spoke type of setup like Bell Labs had? Cal Newport wrote a bit about it in Deep Work [1] and I think it sounds like a potential way to get the best of both worlds. [1] https://medium.com/@GrandCentralPub

I'll bet it would run circles around my dad's 1984 Hyundai Pony. Trying to go up a moderately long hill with 3 or 4 people in that car was an adventure that would usually result in lots of others cars passing us angrily.
