I like the whitelist idea. If you have time, maybe you could create an issue or PR which goes into more detail on your thoughts. As for your specific example, I am not sure I understand the issue. The SQL keyword list (reserved list) is onl

Cool! Does it automatically escape variables if a prepared statement cannot be used such as variables within the SELECT clause? A similar library which implements Postgres format() for Node: https://github.com/datalanche

Sorta. There were plenty of websites for source code hosting before Github, but they all sucked because you couldn't collaborate or at least not easily. Github focusing on easy-to-use collaboration tools (pull requests and issues) is w

I can see how that could happen depending on how it is used, but I don't see how that must happen. Can you elaborate?

Postgres supports LISTEN / NOTIFY [1,2], and you can stream a SELECT using COPY or a cursor. 1. http://www.postgresql.org/docs/9.4/static/sql-listen.html 2. http://www.postgresql.org/docs

That is why I used the adjective "good". Like you said, just having an automated test suite is not necessarily useful. Let me define what I mean by "good". A good automated test suite has a very high (>90%) coverage o

I generally agree with this post. What I have found to be ironic, personally, is that good automated testing often takes a long time to implement and it feels like it takes forever sometimes. However it usually shortens the overall developm

Private registration usually costs extra, but not with Google domains. That is a compelling reason to me. I also like the clean interface, some of the other vendors have horrible interfaces.

WAL replication is currently the official and best supported mechanism for replication. If WAL replication does not suite your particular use case, then that is when to start looking at Slony, Bucardo, etc.

I don't see how this tool automatically introduces impedance mismatch? It is certainly possible depending on how the application is written, but I don't see how it must happen?

Yes I agree with using the term namespace instead of PG schema. I have also never understood why the default schema (namespace) is called "public". Why not "default"? Anyway let us say how do I expose multiple namespaces

You can. I didn't say you couldn't absolutely, rather there are cases where you can't. Using the schema search path and/or joining multiple tables into a view allows you to query multiple schemas. The internal schema and

I doubt hail storms would be a problem, but tornadoes are another story. Maybe instead of the tube and pylons being exposed, they were covered in such a way that a tornado would go over top rather than through it.
